What is Sender ID profile and how can I use it?

Sender ID profile is a great tool for streamlining communication, saving time, and better overview. It enables you to set up sender type for each country separately in one profile. This function is especially useful when creating and sending international SMS campaigns, but of course can be used for standard campaigns for 1 country or for sending SMS notifications. If you create sender ID profile you’ll then see this profile when selecting sender type in SMS campaigns, Smart SMS campaigns and sending SMS notifications.

How does it work?

Let’s say that we create a sender ID profile for a fictional company ABC. This profil is called “ABC” and includes 4 countries with different sender types:

• UK – text sender ID – “ABC Company”
• France – text sender ID – “ABC”
• Germany – own number
• Ireland – system number

I can now create SMS campaign (can be applied for Smart SMS or SMS notification) that will be send simultaneously to the UK, France, Germany and Ireland. In the second step I’ll select the “ABC” profile in the sender type box. When sending the campaign, Gretor SMS automatically deliveres SMS messages in the particular country with assigned sender type as it was set up in the Sender ID profile. If there are recipients from other countries and I use this sender ID profiln, then the messages will be delivered with a default sender type – usually system number. On the other hand, if I send campaign or message to one country (UK) and use this profile, the message will be delivered with text sender ID “Spolecnost ABC”. Jestliže příjemci budou i z jiných zemích a já použiju tento profil odesílatele, zprávy se doručí s defaultním typem odesílatele – nejčastěji systémové číslo. Naopak, budu-li posílat zprávu do jedné země (České republiky) a použiju tento profil, zpráva se doručí s textovým odesílatelem “ABC Company”.

How can I create sender ID profile or add country to existing profile?

To create a new sender ID profile:

1. Click SMS in the left menu on Gretor SMS Panel
2. Click Sender ID Profiles
3. In the upper-right corner click Add new profile
4. Type name and click Create
5. Select a country for which you want to set up sender type and click Next
6. Select sender type which you want to assign to the country in this sender ID profile (you can assign a different sender type for the same country in another sender ID profile), eventually fill out the form, and click Next
7. Check if everything is correct and click Save
8. Now you can assign other countries to the sender id profile with the same or different sender types

How can I rename sender ID profile?

To rename a sender ID profile:

1. Click SMS in the left menu on Gretor SMS Panel
2. Click Sender ID Profiles
3. Select a profile you want to rename
4. Click more actions (sprocket icon)
5. Choose Rename
6. Enter new name and click Rename

How can I delete a country in sender ID profile?

To delete a country in a sender ID profile:

1. Click SMS in the left menu on Gretor SMS Panel
2. Click Sender ID Profiles
3. Select a country that you wish to delete and click Delete (bin icon), and subsequently confirm

How can I change sender type in a sender ID profile?

To change sender type in a sender ID profile:

1. Click SMS in the left menu on Gretor SMS Panel
2. Click Sender ID Profiles
3. Select country for which you want to change sender type and click on it
4. Choose sender type and click Next
5. Check if everything is correct and save

How can I delete sender ID profile?

To delete a sender ID profile:

1. Click SMS in the left menu on Gretor SMS Panel
2. Click Sender ID Profiles
3. Select profile you wish to delete
4. Click more actions (sprocket icon)
5. Choose Delete and confirm
